He has built a distinguished career specializing in personal injury, domestic relations, product liability, and DUI defense. Mr. Harwood is a seasoned litigator with a proven track record of success in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts courts. He has also argued numerous cases before the Rhode Island Supreme Court, earning a reputation for clarity, conviction, and strategic insight. His legal expertise has extended beyond the courtroom to the world of professional sports, where he has represented several NHL and AHL players in contract negotiations and served as a trusted agent and advisor.

Mr. Harwood’s commitment to service extends well beyond his legal practice. He served on the advisory board of Big Brothers and was recognized in 2000 with both the Robert Cy Killian Humanitarian Award and the March of Dimes Citizen of the Year Award—testaments to his impact on the broader community.

In the political arena, Mr. Harwood served the State of Rhode Island with distinction. In recognition of his distinguished legal career, public service, and extensive contributions to the community, Mr. Harwood was honored in 2022 with induction into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame—an accolade reserved for individuals who have made a lasting impact on the state's history, culture, and civic life.

He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the U.S. District Courts for both states, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. A standout student-athlete during his time at Penn, he played both hockey and baseball and was inducted into the University of Pennsylvania Athletic Hall of Fame’s inaugural class in 1999.
